UTB welcomes students to academic year 2025-2026

The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) has officially opened the Academic Year 2025-2026 with dynamic student induction activities, welcoming new and returning students into its diverse academic community. Among the new cohort are international students who will train at the soon-to-be-opened world-class Olympic swimming pool, further strengthening the university’s position as a university of choice for business, engineering, and technology programmes in Bahrain and beyond.

The first day was more than an introduction to university life; it was a celebration of community and a showcase of UTB’s dynamic and inclusive culture. Organised as a student-led initiative by the Student Council, club officers, and dedicated volunteers, and supported by the Office of Student Affairs and faculty members from across the colleges, the event highlighted UTB’s commitment to empowering students to take the lead and collaborate from the very start of their academic journey.

The event began with group allocations and a student life showcase, followed by inspirational speeches. Dr Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, delivered a warm welcome to the new cohort while extending his best wishes to returning students for a productive and fulfilling year ahead. In his address, he emphasised the importance of resilience, innovation, and community, reminding students that “university life is not just about gaining knowledge but also about building character, forming lifelong friendships, and preparing to make meaningful contributions to society.” His words set an inspirational tone for the year, encouraging students to embrace both challenges and opportunities with confidence.

The alumni speech added inspiration, empowering students to embrace every opportunity and aim high in their own journeys. This was followed by a comprehensive overview of UTB’s programmes and campus life, as well as a presentation by the Student Council, which encouraged students to get involved in initiatives, join clubs, and make their campus experience truly enriching.

Highlighting the event was the series of student stations, where participants engaged in interactive and competitive activities designed to foster teamwork, creativity, and cross-cultural collaboration. These experiences strengthened bonds within UTB’s diverse student body while showcasing the energy and spirit of campus life.

Adding a celebratory atmosphere, the induction included festive breaks with food, fun activities, and photo opportunities, creating lasting memories for students as they settled into the academic year. The event concluded with the distribution of giveaways, offering students a tangible reminder of the university’s commitment to their success and well-being.

With students from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and across the globe, UTB continues to distinguish itself as a hub of diversity, academic excellence, and innovation. As the Academic Year 2025-2026 unfolds, UTB looks forward to guiding its students through a transformative journey that balances academic achievement with personal growth, leadership, and community spirit, preparing them to become leaders, innovators, and contributors to Bahrain’s and the world’s knowledge-driven future.
