UTB welcomes new students through first trimester induction activities
The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) has officially welcomed new undergraduate and postgraduate students for the First Trimester of Academic Year 2026-2027 through a series of induction activities designed to help students begin their academic journey with confidence, purpose and a clear pathway to future success.
Held at UTB’s Salmabad campus, the induction activities brought together students from Bahrain, the GCC and beyond, representing diverse nationalities, academic backgrounds, industries and professional experiences. The events reflected UTB’s commitment to providing a supportive, industry-focused and student-centred learning environment that empowers students to achieve their academic and professional aspirations.
Beginning the Undergraduate Journey
UTB welcomed its newest undergraduate students through an engaging induction programme designed to introduce them to university life and prepare them for a successful transition into higher education.
Students attended presentations on academic policies and regulations, learning resources, student support services, digital platforms and extracurricular opportunities. They also learned about the wide range of student clubs, activities and engagement initiatives that contribute to a vibrant campus experience.
The event concluded with meetings with college representatives and guided campus tours, enabling students to familiarise themselves with UTB’s facilities while connecting with fellow students and faculty members.
Welcoming the new cohort, Dr Haitham Alqahtani, Vice President for Academic Affairs, highlighted the importance of academic excellence, internationally recognised standards and employability skills in preparing graduates for success in a competitive global workforce. He encouraged students to embrace lifelong learning, resilience and personal growth, emphasising that achievement is built through dedication, perseverance and continuous development.
Advancing Careers Through Postgraduate Education
UTB also welcomed a new cohort of master’s students during its Postgraduate Programmes Induction, held under the theme “From Graduate Study to Professional Impact.”
The induction brought together professionals and aspiring leaders enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Digital Marketing (MSDM), Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (MSLSCM), and the newly launched Master of Science in Real Estate Management and Investment (MSRI).
Designed to inspire, inform and connect, the induction activities provided students with valuable insights into their chosen disciplines, curriculum pathways and academic expectations. Participants received guidance on university regulations, academic success strategies, digital learning platforms, library resources and the comprehensive support services available throughout their postgraduate studies.

A key highlight of the postgraduate induction was the announcement of the five recipients of the 50% scholarship for the Master of Science in Real Estate Management and Investment (MSRI) programme, sponsored by GFH Bank, recognising their academic excellence and commitment to professional growth.
