The university is honoured to welcome Dr. Hasan Almulla as the new president.

A PhD holder from The University of Edinburgh-UK, Dr. Hasan Almulla has significant experience in leading higher education institutions. To mention, he was part of the team that established Bahrain Polytechnic (Bahrain Technical College) where he later became the Deputy Chief Executive for Academic Affairs. After leaving Bahrain Polytechnic, he briefly became the Vice President for Administration and External Relations at the Royal University for Women.

Dr. Hasan Almulla envisions transforming the University to become one of the leading higher education institutions in Bahrain and beyond. With an ambitious new brand and strategic direction, supported by the Board of Directors, he aims to strengthen the university’s ranking, programme offerings and expansion that cater to the needs of the fast-changing global society and are aligned to labour market demands, entrepreneurial capacity, functional applied research, technology-adept teaching and learning, and foremost producing graduates with essential 21st century skills that would  enhance their employability and mobility locally, regionally and internationally.
