UTB unveils new faces of bug busters

The Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) Student Group (ISG) at the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB), in collaboration with the College of Computer Studies and the Alumni Career Development Centre, organised the Bug Busters competition, bringing together the brightest minds among the university’s technology enthusiasts.

Centred on debugging and problem-solving, the competition consisted of three stages that tested contestants’ analytical and technical abilities under pressure. The top four winners were recognised for their exceptional performance and have now become valuable additions to the university’s bug busters team. The winners are as follows: First place was awarded to Afham Haleema, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science student; a tie for second place went to Emaan Mohammed, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology specialising in Networking and Cyber Security, and Muhammed Nizin, a BSCS student; while fourth place was secured by Syed Rayed Tirmizi, also a BSCS student.

This event underscores UTB ISG’s commitment to inspiring students from the College of Computer Studies and other colleges to engage in technology-driven activities, fostering a culture of mutual support and pushing the boundaries of their potential. Notably, UTB ISG, the first ISG in Bahrain, is led by Mohamed Ali Juma, a BSCS student.

UTB takes pride in being at the forefront of empowering its students to excel in the competitive world of technology. The university offers students the opportunity to extend beyond the classroom and engage in hands-on experiences, enabling them to stay ahead in the ever-evolving landscape of technology, while making their mark in both local and international competitions.
