University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) collaborated with The Northern Governorate in a joint effort to carry out a beach cleaning campaign along Jid Al Haj Beach.

The joint initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving Bahrain’s biodiversity particularly protecting its coastal areas. By organising the beach cleaning campaign, UTB and The Northern Governorate sought to instill a sense of responsibility and environmental consciousness among the participants. It also underscores the importance of partnerships between educational institutions and local authorities in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices.

The event witnessed a remarkable turnout with volunteers including students, parents, faculty, and staff members of UTB actively engaging in the campaign. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and other necessary equipment, everyone worked diligently to collect and dispose a hundred kilograms of litter in a couple of hours, ensuring the beach shore was restored to its pristine condition.

The collaboration between UTB and The Northern Governorate highlights mutual commitment to community engagement and environmental sustainability. By actively participating in such initiatives, UTB aims to instill a sense of civic responsibility and environmental stewardship among its stakeholders.
