UTB advocates for a safe learning environment

The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB), in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, held a lecture on the scourge of drugs and methods for protection against its dangers, marking the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The lecture addressed the harmful effects of drug abuse on physical and mental health, as well as its social and economic repercussions.

Major Yousif Alzayani from the Anti-Narcotics Directorate explained the different types of drugs and their severe consequences, including health issues, addiction, and negative social and economic impacts. He also highlighted the efforts of security agencies in combating drug smuggling, emphasizing the importance of public awareness.

The event included demonstrations of various drugs to help students distinguish between illegal substances and legal medications, thereby aiding in the prevention of addiction.

UTB strongly supports partnerships between educational institutions and government agencies to address societal issues, underscoring its commitment to ensuring a safe learning environment for students and making a positive impact on Bahraini society. This initiative demonstrates UTB’s dedication to social responsibility, raising awareness, and addressing societal challenges in Bahrain.
