UTB supports Bahrain’s efforts against cyber fraud

University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) held a timely and engaging seminar titled “The Dark World of Cyber Fraud,” bringing together staff, students and alumni to delve into the hidden threats of the digital era. It served as a platform to educate and empower participants on how to stay protected in today’s interconnected world.

The seminar was led by Dr. Mohamed Al Abdulla, Head of the Financial Crimes Division at the Ministry of Interior, who captivated the audience with his in-depth knowledge and practical insights. Through compelling examples, he shed light on various types of cybercrimes, including scams on social media platforms, fraudulent online shopping schemes, fake job opportunities, and the risks associated with cryptocurrency trading.

Participants were equipped with essential strategies to outsmart cybercriminals and safeguard their digital presence. By presenting realistic scenarios, the session highlighted the importance of staying vigilant and informed about emerging online threats.
