UTB students secure second place at Spring Hack 2025

The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) proudly congratulates its exceptional students Jana Abujamal, Abdallah Tantawy and Issa Mohamad for securing second place at Spring Hack 2025: Powering What’s Next, one of Bahrain’s most dynamic and fast-paced innovation challenges delivered during Global Entrepreneurship Week and proudly supported by Tamkeen.

Held under an intense time limit, the hackathon brought together Bahrain’s brightest emerging innovators, challenging them to ideate, prototype and pitch transformative solutions at extraordinary speed. The ambience was charged with creativity, determination and strategic thinking, reflecting the spirit of innovation that drives Bahrain’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Representing UTB, the student team “Focus Print” presented a forward-looking solution that captured the attention of the judging panel and earned them a well-deserved second place. The team comprises Jana Abujamal, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science student; Abdallah Tantawy, also pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science; and Issa Mohamad, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology student majoring in Networking and Cybersecurity. Their outstanding performance underscores UTB’s commitment to developing technologically skilled, industry-ready talent equipped to address real-world challenges.

The competition was elevated by a distinguished panel of judges whose expertise and insight enriched the experience for all participating teams. The panel included Zainab Khamis, Managing Director of Spring; Marwa Aleskafi, Director of Entrepreneurship, Tech and Strategic Initiatives at Tamkeen; and Tariq Mattar, Director at Bahrain FinTech Bay. Their mentorship and evaluations provided valuable guidance throughout the event, reinforcing the hackathon’s role in nurturing future innovators.
