UTB students gain job market edge through alumni expertise
In an effort to equip students with essential skills for the job market, the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) hosted a seminar led by one of its distinguished alumni. The seminar was facilitated by Mr Malik Zmerli, an alumnus who holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business and a Master of Business Administration. The seminar focused on two critical aspects of job application: mastering job interviews and crafting compelling CVs. The alumnus shared invaluable insights and practical tips, drawing from personal experience and industry knowledge.
During the seminar, the alumnus emphasised the importance of a well-structured CV. Key tips included tailoring your CV for each job application to highlight relevant skills and experiences, keeping your CV concise (ideally one to two pages) and easy to read, using a clean and professional format with consistent fonts and headings, focusing on achievements rather than just listing job duties, and incorporating keywords from the job description to pass through the hiring process.
One of the highlights of the seminar was the interactive session on key relevant tips and tricks helping students refine their CVs to better align with industry standards. He offered students who would want their CVs be reviewed to send them to him for personalised feedback.
UTB continues to demonstrate its commitment to student success by organising such impactful events. By leveraging the expertise of its accomplished alumni, the university ensures that its students are well-prepared to enter the competitive job market.
