UTB signs MoU with AlQoud Foundation to boost practical training and employability

The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AlQoud Foundation, reinforcing UTB’s commitment as a student-centred university dedicated to holistic student development, from admission through to graduation and career placement. The partnership expands opportunities for practical training, professional development, and industry-aligned learning that prepares students for today’s dynamic job market.

Through the MoU, UTB and AlQoud Foundation will collaborate to provide on-the-job training and internship opportunities across multiple academic and professional disciplines. The partnership will also support joint initiatives, including workshops, seminars, conferences, and career guidance programmes, ensuring students gain hands-on experience and industry-relevant skills.

The agreement further encompasses knowledge and expertise exchange, participation in community and developmental projects, and the sharing of research resources and academic outputs, fostering innovation and sustainable growth. Additionally, the collaboration continues UTB’s entrepreneurship programme for productive families, helping participants develop economic skills, manage projects, and turn ideas into sustainable business models that contribute to the national economy.

Commenting on the MoU, Dr Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, highlighted the university’s focus on student-centred learning and career-ready graduates.

“At UTB, we prioritise the holistic development of our students, providing strong support from admission to graduation, while ensuring our courses reflect industry trends. Partnerships with the private sector are central to creating hands-on learning opportunities that develop professional and leadership skills, enabling our graduates to enter the workforce with confidence and competence,” he said.

Mr Khalid Abdullah AlQoud, Chairman of AlQoud Foundation, expressed pride in the collaboration, noting the foundation’s dedication to education and youth empowerment through corporate social responsibility.

“This agreement represents a significant step in preparing students for the labour market through structured training, knowledge transfer, and practical experience, delivering value to both society and the national economy,” he stated.

The MoU establishes joint coordination and follow-up mechanisms to ensure effective implementation of the partnership and its objectives, further strengthening a culture of practical training as an integral part of students’ academic and professional journey.
