UTB to host TEDxUTB 2026 after securing global licence



The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) has reached a major milestone by officially receiving the renowned TEDx licence. As a result, the university is now recognised for its ongoing efforts in innovation and entrepreneurship. Moreover, this achievement highlights UTB’s role in promoting intellectual dialogue with sustainable social and developmental impact in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Inspiring Theme and Distinguished Speakers

The chosen theme for TEDxUTB 2026, “Momentum – Shaping What’s Next,” captures the spirit of today’s era. It shows UTB’s belief that the future is not simply awaited but actively built through innovation, leadership, and collective action.

In addition, guided by the international TED organisation, TEDxUTB 2026 will bring together a distinguished group of thinkers, entrepreneurs, technology experts, and community leaders. Together, they will spark a new intellectual movement that keeps pace with global transformations and inspires meaningful dialogue.

Key Topics and Discussions

The stage will feature inspiring talks on the data revolution and the applications of artificial intelligence in everyday life. As a result, audiences will see how technology is reshaping human experiences.

We’re looking for:

▪️Musicians, spoken word/poetry artists, dancers, and multidisciplinary performers
▪️Work that reflects energy, change, identity, or Bahrain’s culture
▪️A tight 5-10 minute set suited to a live, TED-style stage
▪️Original material preferred; covers considered case-by-case
