UTB SC attends International Student Forum in Armenia
The Student Council of the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB SC) represented the university at the second edition of the International Students Self-Governance Forum, hosted by the Yerevan State University Student Council (YSU SC), the largest youth organisation in Armenia, held from 12–18 May 2025.
UTB SC’s participation underscores the university’s unwavering commitment to a student-centred approach, continually reinventing student experiences and fostering global engagement beyond the classroom.
A key factor in UTB SC’s involvement was the strong existing ties with YSU SC. This provided an invaluable opportunity for immersive international exchange. The forum organisers generously provided accommodation, meals, and transportation, ensuring a rich experience for all attendees.
Throughout the event, UTB SC delegates gained profound insights into student representation, leadership, problem-solving, and university development support. Expert-led sessions enabled them to refine their project management and organisational skills, equipping them with the tools necessary to drive impactful initiatives within their universities. Moreover, the forum served as a platform for international networking and collaboration, allowing UTB SC members to forge connections with student leaders from diverse cultural backgrounds. Enthusiastic about their newfound knowledge, UTB SC representatives are eager to share their learnings with fellow students at UTB, reinforcing the university’s culture of student empowerment and progress.
Reflecting on UTB’s steadfast commitment to holistic student development, Dr Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, reaffirmed that all university advancements are anchored in the philosophy of reinventing student experiences. He emphasised that participation in global events and intellectual exchanges is instrumental in cultivating leadership, organisational, communication, and other essential skills that will serve students well in their future professional endeavours.
Expressing his gratitude, Yaser Yaseen Naser, President of the UTB SC, extended sincere appreciation to the YSU Student Council for their warm hospitality and commitment to creating a memorable and meaningful engagement. He also acknowledged UTB’s ongoing support in advancing student growth through experiential learning, further reinforcing its reputation as a university dedicated to student-centred development and achievement.
