UTB represented at the IEEE student training in Tunisia
A Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering student and the President of the IEEE Student Branch at the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB), Nathalie Ahmed Alomari, participated in the IEEE Region 8 Sectional Student Branch Coordinators Training. Held in Hammamet, Tunisia, this event aimed to empower student leaders through workshops, collaborative panels, and networking opportunities.
The training featured sessions led by distinguished IEEE professionals, covering effective rereporting, branch management, transforming events into structured projects, fostering inclusivity, and exploring funding opportunities and recognition programmes. Collaborative panels focused on the best practices and conflict resolution, which Nathalie found inspiring and instrumental in sparking innovative ideas for student leadership.
Beyond the training, Nathalie connected with fellow student leaders from IEEE Region 8, fostering valuable professional relationships and exploring Tunisia’s rich culture. She also attended the Tunisian Student and Young Professional (TSYP) Congress, which featured student booths themed around “Tunisia in 2056” and workshops on environmental challenges, AI integration, research focus areas, and membership opportunities.
“Participating in the IEEE Region 8 training and TSYP Congress was a transformative experience,” said Nathalie. “The knowledge I gained and the connections I made will help me implement effective strategies and initiatives within UTB’s IEEE Student Branch. I am grateful for the opportunity to represent UTB on an international platform.”
UTB’s collaboration with IEEE underscores the university’s commitment to advancing education and innovation through its engineering and technology programmes, fostering leadership, technical excellence, and global collaboration among its students.
