UTB recognises its employees’ contributions to the recent accreditation reviews
In celebration of obtaining the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology Engineering Accreditation Commission (ABET-EAC) and Computing Accreditation Commission (ABET-CAC) accreditation grants to engineering and computer science programmes, and the conduct of the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) review, University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) recognised all its employees’ contributions through a team building workshop at the onset of the new trimester.
Dr. Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, presented the extent of developments for the new identity of the university including campus modernisation, curriculum upgrade, pedagogical enhancement and stimulating environment for employees – all towards reinventing student experience, of which he coined R.I.S.E. He stressed on the significant roles of the university, faculty and staff in building a strong foundation in molding generations of students in the same ranks with those from top-ranked universities worldwide.
To provide support to faculty members in their pedagogical functions, Dr. Juniper Abbatayo, a specialist in human resources and teaching methods, shared an array of contemporary teaching methods in higher education with technology as a prominent pillar, covering the principles of effective classroom management and the importance of student participation, considering the progress of student performance and continuous improvement.
In similar way, Mr. Hussain Ashoor, a specialist in human resources development and training, enthusiastically led the nonacademic staff in understanding the integration between personality and healthy, balanced and conducive work environment.
Awarding of certificates to all employees who served as contributors to the recent ABET and BQA reviews, team building activities and competitions constituted the highlights of the assembly atop the esteemed gesture of the management to break the usual work routine and spur creativity and innovation among all employees of the university.
