UTB partners with BisB to enhance student employability and industry collaboration
The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) and Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at empowering students through practical learning experiences, professional training, and career-readiness initiatives.
The MoU, signed by Dr Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, and Ms Fatema Al Alawi, Chief Executive Officer of BisB, marks a significant step in strengthening the bridge between academia and the banking industry. The agreement reflects the shared vision of both institutions to equip Bahraini youth with the skills, knowledge, and innovative mindset needed to thrive in today’s dynamic financial and technology sectors.
Under this partnership, BisB will offer internship and training opportunities to UTB students who meet its selection criteria, providing real-world exposure to banking operations, innovation, and financial technologies. The collaboration will also include career fairs, workshops, and seminars conducted by BisB professionals in close coordination with UTB’s academic departments to ensure industry relevance and alignment with the university’s curricula.
These initiatives will focus on developing essential competencies such as entrepreneurship, creativity, leadership, and innovation, preparing UTB students to become future leaders in Bahrain’s growing fintech and banking sectors.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hasan Almulla highlighted UTB’s commitment to creating strong, purposeful industry linkages.
“Our partnership with Bahrain Islamic Bank reinforces UTB’s mission to deliver career-focused education that meets market demands. By connecting our students directly with leading institutions like BisB, we are equipping them with both academic excellence and practical expertise to excel in their future careers.”
Ms Fatema Al Alawi expressed BisB’s enthusiasm for supporting Bahrain’s education and talent development ecosystem.
“This collaboration with UTB reflects BisB’s ongoing commitment to empowering young Bahrainis through meaningful learning experiences. We believe that by investing in talent development, we are also investing in the Kingdom’s sustainable economic growth.”
UTB continues to expand its partnerships with leading national institutions, reaffirming its position as one of Bahrain’s most forward-thinking universities. The collaboration aims to produce future-ready graduates, strengthen student employability, promote innovation, and enhance synergies between the banking sector and higher education.
