UTB opens new academic year 2024-2025 with frosh induction
University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) welcomed its new cohort of students for the academic year 2024-2025 with an induction week, filling the university auditorium with eager faces ready to embark on their academic journey.
The induction kicked off with an inspiring welcome speech by Dr. Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, who underscored the significance of a well-rounded educational experience. In his address, Dr. Hasan Almulla shared ten invaluable insights drawn from his own experiences, designed to help students make the most of their time at the university. “Your journey here is not solely about academic success; it is also about personal growth and lifelong learning,” he emphasised, urging students to fully engage in university life. His advice covered essential topics such as effective time management, the value of reading and seeking clarification when needed, and the importance of participating in extracurricular activities.
Students were equipped with essential knowledge and resources. Daily activities included informative presentations covering a wide range of topics. Students learned about the university’s rules and regulations, the learning management system, and student information systems, which will be crucial for their academic success.
Additionally, the week highlighted the various IT services available, showcasing how technology can enhance their learning experience. The introduction of student clubs and support services offered new students avenues to connect, collaborate, and thrive within the UTB community and even beyond.
“This induction week is a great opportunity for us to meet fellow students and professors and learn about the various university support services,” said Rashed Al-Sudairi, a first-year accounting and finance student from Saudi. “I feel more prepared and excited to start my studies here at UTB,” he added.
As the week draws to a close, students are ready to dive into their studies, equipped with knowledge, resources, and the support of a vibrant community of students, faculty, staff and management. UTB wishes a bright future for these new scholars and their families as they embark on this transformative journey.
