UTB launches Bahrain’s first social media programme

In a pioneering move that reflects its proactive vision for the demands of the digital future, the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) has collaborated with Noqta platform, opening new horizons in social media education, digital content creation, and influencer skills development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Through this strategic partnership, UTB becomes the first university in Bahrain to offer professional, university-affiliated training focused on social media, content creation, and building an influential digital presence. The initiative marks a significant milestone in higher education, responding directly to the rapid evolution of digital media, online communication, and the influence economy.

The collaboration is delivered through a non-degree professional training pathway designed to enhance students’ digital competencies and equip them with practical, industry-relevant tools. The programme enables students to understand social media platforms in depth and engage with them professionally, in line with the accelerating transformations shaping modern digital media and content-driven industries.

This initiative speaks directly to the language, interests, and aspirations of today’s generation. Social media engagement is no longer viewed as a recreational activity, but as a core professional skill that unlocks diverse career pathways and creates real opportunities in the labour market. Through this collaboration, UTB aims to empower its students to craft creative, authentic, and impactful content that reflects their identity while meeting internationally recognised professional standards.

As part of this initiative, the University of Technology Bahrain joins Noqta platform as a strategic partner, recognising the platform’s established expertise in youth empowerment and social media skills development. Noqta’s training programmes are delivered by a distinguished group of regional experts and leading content creators, including Omar Farooq, offering students direct exposure to real-world industry insights and best practices.

The platform is expected to play a key role in inspiring a new generation to build an effective, responsible, and influential digital presence. UTB’s adoption of these professional training programmes underscores the university’s commitment to providing students with practical, experiential learning opportunities that position them at the forefront of the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

On this occasion, Dr Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, reaffirmed UTB’s commitment to delivering contemporary education that extends beyond traditional classrooms, stating “At the University of Technology Bahrain, we believe that the role of the university goes beyond academic instruction to preparing our students for the future. Our collaboration with Nuqta Platform offers our students a genuine opportunity to acquire impactful digital skills and to build a professional, conscious, and responsible presence in the digital space, enhancing their readiness for both the local and regional labour markets.”

Through this programme, UTB opens a new space for its students to discover their potential, refine their voices, and create positive impact that reflects their awareness and ambition. This initiative reaffirms UTB’s readiness to keep pace with the future and its commitment to shaping competent, responsible, and influential digital leaders equipped to thrive in the digital era.
