UTB hosts pioneering AI and strategic management workshop for LMRA

University of Technology Bahrain (UTB), in collaboration with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), concluded a specialised two-day workshop on artificial intelligence and strategic management. Organised through its Alumni and Career Development Centre (ACDC) and supported by the Colleges of Computer Studies and Administrative and Financial Sciences, the training was held at the UTB campus.

This exclusive training programme was tailored for LMRA Bahrain alumni and staff, with the primary objective of equipping them with the knowledge and tools to strategically integrate AI into decision-making processes and workforce planning within the public sector.

Led by Dr Firas Saidi, faculty member of the College of Computer Studies, the first day laid a strong foundation in AI and machine learning, contextualised for public sector settings. Sessions focused on AI-driven solutions in labour management, data-informed governance, and the ethical and regulatory frameworks essential for responsible AI adoption.

Presented by Dr Surjit Victor, the Programme Head of Master of Science in Digital Marketing, the second day transitioned to strategic applications, showcasing how AI can drive operational excellence and long-term workforce planning. Highlights included predictive analytics, digital policy design, and a hands-on workshop applying AI to real-world strategic scenarios relevant to LMRA operations.

“We are proud to work alongside LMRA to foster a technologically empowered public sector and to champion digital transformation and sustainable workforce strategies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in alignment with Bahrain Vision 2030,” said Mr Redha Shaker, Head of the ACDC.

The success of the workshop paves the way for further strategic engagements between UTB and public and private agencies, reinforcing the university’s role as a catalyst for innovation and professional development across all sectors.
