As one of the academic partners of Capital Governorate in the weeklong celebration of Manama Entrepreneurship Week 2022, University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) hosted the workshop, talks and panel discussion on Youth Economic Empowerment, Sustainability and Entrepreneurship Development, which featured young Bahraini entrepreneurs and highlighted the country’s community and key enablers, technology, research and innovation, entrepreneurial development in youth, and the role of universities to empower students, demonstrate resilience and adaptability and further promote and optimize entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Dr. Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, acknowledged the efforts of the different strategic partner organisations and individuals that contributed not only to the success of the event but also in sustaining Bahrain’s entrepreneurship sector. He mentioned that UTB is in support of the idea that the Kingdom has a lot of talents to be proud of, and that the university molds and transforms their ideas into viable and feasible entrepreneurial opportunities, hence strengthened community collaboration with various business industry partners to produce entrepreneurs and startups that can accelerate economic growth locally and globally.

The event consisted of a panel discussion with representatives from Hope Fund, Tamkeen, Budaiya Hub and Dr. Haitham Alqahtani from UTB, followed by talks of young Bahraini entrepreneurs, challenging and fun startup ideation, speed mentorship workshop and students’ pitching competition, which served as an avenue for students to gain high-impact and innovative ideas from influential industry leaders – adding up to UTB’s mission of contributing to the growth and sustainability of the economy and the expansion of youth knowledge and entrepreneurial development in the Kingdom.

In addition to the hosted event, UTB has participated in the other event highlights.
