UTB hosts cybersecurity awareness session with NCSC
The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB), in collaboration with the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), organised a cybersecurity session for students titled Exploring Cybersecurity: Identifying the Doors and Locks.
Mr. Ahmed Ebrahim, Chief of Cyber Security Monitoring Division in the National Cyber Response Directorate, provided practical insights on managing digital security, stressing the significance of protecting information from unauthorized access and cyber threats like phishing, ransomware, DDoS attacks, and social engineering. Attendees were advised to practice essential cybersecurity measures such as using strong passwords, employing multi-factor authentication (MFA), staying updated with software, and remaining vigilant about evolving threats, whilst taking proactive measures in safeguarding one’s digital space from unauthorized access.
This event is part of UTB’s ongoing commitment to advancing cybersecurity awareness and equipping all students, particularly those studying networking and cybersecurity, data analytics and artificial intelligence, and computer science, with the skills and tools to develop innovative solutions to cyber challenges in an increasingly interconnected digital world. Through engaging keynotes from industry professionals alongside their academic studies, students gain valuable, real-world insights into the evolving landscape of cybersecurity.
