
UTB Career Fair 2024 receives HE Minister of Labour
With the esteemed presence of His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour, the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) hosted Career Fair 2024, attracting a substantial crowd of UTB alumni and students, and the broader community. With participation from 25 companies across various industries, the fair highlighted the latest trends, demands, and opportunities in the job market.
Dr. Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, thanked His Excellency Mr. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan for honouring the event with his presence, while also lauding the ministry’s dedication to providing job opportunities for Bahrain’s job seekers. He emphasised the mutual benefits of the career fair for both job seekers and employers, and the importance of aligning qualifications with industry standards. He encouraged alumni to pursue continuous professional development through certifications, recognitions, promotions, and partnerships, highlighting that employers are increasingly seeking candidates with more than just qualifications and experience.
In a special ceremony, His Excellency, accompanied by Dr. Hasan Almulla, recognised the participating companies – Aptech Bahrain, Arab Shipbuilding & Repair Yard Co., ARRAY Innovation, Bahrain Aluminium Extrusion Company, Bahrain Islamic Bank, Bahrain Society of Engineers, Bapco Energies, Codebase Technologies, Data Direct Bahrain, Eazy Financial Services B.S.C., Ebrahim K. Kanoo B.S.C., Enma Institute, General Assembly, Global Vision Solutions, Huawei, INJAZ Bahrain, Kalaam Telecom, MTQ Oilfield Services WLL, NCS MENA Co., Racing Force Group, Silah Gulf, Tamkeen, The Ritz-Carlton, ThinkSmart for Development and Training, and Zain Bahrain. Dr. Hasan Almulla presented His Excellency with a memento of UTB’s gratitude for his presence at the event.
Yaser Yaseen, president of the student council, also welcomed His Excellency on behalf of the student body and expressed appreciation for the efforts of the ministry supported by the university in enhancing job preparedness for students, bridging the gap between education and employment.
UTB ramps up student and alumni activities, like career fairs, as part of its initiatives to assist students and graduates in securing jobs, internships, and networking opportunities. These efforts aim to enhance their skills and capabilities, ensuring they meet the evolving demands of the labour market.
