UTB future engineers showcase innovative projects

The College of Engineering at the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) hosted its capstone project exhibition, highlighting the creativity, technical knowledge, and innovation of its graduating students. The final-year students from the bachelor’s programmes in Mechatronics Engineering and Informatics Engineering showcased their final capstone projects through functional system demonstrations and interactive exhibits.

The exhibition served as a platform for students to present the outcomes of their applied research and engineering design projects, developed as part of their academic culmination. Projects spanned a variety of fields, including automation, robotics, smart systems, and data-driven technologies, reflecting the university’s commitment to industry-relevant, technology-driven education.

The event was graced by Dr Hasan Almulla, UTB President, and Dr Abdulkarim Abbas, Dean of the College of Engineering, along with faculty members, fellow students, and invited guests. They toured the student exhibits, engaging with each group on the technical processes, real-world applications, and problem-solving approaches employed in their projects.

This initiative aligns with UTB’s strategic mission to produce future-ready engineering graduates capable of contributing to the Kingdom’s growing knowledge economy. It also reflects the university’s support for Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, which emphasises digitalisation, innovation, and the advancement of technical education in the region.

With UTB’s student-centred approach to education, students’ academic excellence and practical skills are further reinforced – enabling them to thrive in innovation, sustainability, applied research, and industry engagement within the fields of engineering, technology and business.
