UTB explores AI’s transformative role in scientific research
The AI and Metaverse Research Centre of the College of Computer Studies at the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) held a virtual symposium featuring how artificial intelligence is reshaping the research landscape, enhancing data analysis, accelerating discoveries, and fostering innovation across various scientific disciplines.
The discussion was led by Dr Khaled Ouanes, an education and training consultant with expertise in AI from Saudi Electronic University. He emphasised AI as a self-evolving technology that permeates all industries, organisations, and even individual lives. His insights highlighted AI’s dynamic role in catalysing innovation and driving forward the frontiers of scientific research.
The establishment of a specialised research centre within the college, in conjunction with collaborations with external field experts ensures that UTB faculty and students are continually abreast of the rapid advancements in AI functionalities. This commitment to staying at the cutting edge of AI technology is particularly evident within the college’s specialised fields, including data analytics and AI, networking and cybersecurity, applications development, and computer science.
