UTB empowers its volunteers for campus and community safety
In line with its commitment to community engagement and social responsibility, the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) conducted a First Aid Training under its flagship UTB CarEs initiative, promoting volunteerism and equipping its community with practical skills that benefit both the university and society while shaping future-ready, well-rounded leaders.
Delivered by the Paramedics Academy Team, the training equipped volunteer faculty members, staff, and student leaders with essential lifesaving competencies, including basic life support, bleeding control, and emergency response techniques. The hands-on approach strengthened trainees’ confidence and preparedness in handling unforeseen emergencies, reinforcing a culture of safety and wellbeing across the campus.
Following the successful completion of the session, participants were also presented with the opportunity to advance to certified training, enabling them to further enhance their capabilities and contribute at a higher level to emergency readiness initiatives within and beyond UTB.
As a WHO-recognised Healthy University, UTB champions health awareness, diversity, and social responsibility. Through its UTB CarEs initiative, the university offers programmes and activities that foster compassion, leadership, and civic engagement, reflecting its ongoing commitment to the wellbeing of the wider community.
UTB places strong emphasis on volunteerism, embedding United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into student development and course delivery. Through participation in outreach, health, and environmental initiatives, students enhance their career readiness while cultivating social responsibility and global citizenship.
