UTB confers degrees to 485 graduates

A total of 485 graduates of the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) graduated in the eighteenth graduation ceremony held at Al Dana Amphitheatre under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council and Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of HEC.

The graduates were conferred of their respective degree programmes in Master of Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Science in Informatics Engineering (BSIE), Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering (BSME), Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), Bachelor of Science in International Business (BSIB), and Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics (BSBI), in the presence of highly esteemed and honourable dignitaries.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was the recognition of the top graduates in each programme by the GFH Financial Group, each of them receiving token of recognition and scholarship to do their MBA at UTB.

In his welcome speech, Dr. Hasan Almulla, President of University of Technology Bahrain, thanked Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the Higher Education Council, for her generous patronage of the ceremony and unlimited support of the university and higher education sector. Foremost he extended his profound appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for their notable leadership and continuing support to the higher education sector. He also commended the support of the Board of Directors of UTB for their unwavering support of the university developments.

“Getting a job after graduation is rewarding. However, you also have a greater responsibility to explore on your innovative, creative, and ethical ideas that would contribute effectively to humanity’s continuing development. Wherever your degree will take you, always remember that you are a piece of UTB’s history. You are all international ambassadors who will stand as role models for the current students and are often well placed to offer practical support to them as they start their careers just like how you have started,” Dr. Hasan Almulla told the graduates.

Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana congratulated the graduates, parents and families present at the ceremony and commended UTB on its continuous commitment and support of enhancing education, providing conducive educational environment for students, achieving more successes and excellence in producing job-market qualified graduates. She also extended her congratulations to all the graduates emphasizing on the kind of education they have gained that will propel them to even greater possibilities as they journey to the world of work locally, regionally, or globally.
