UTB concludes livelihood training for aspiring women entrepreneurs
The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB), through its College of Administrative and Financial Sciences and Community Engagement Office, in collaboration with the Northern Governorate and the Bahrain Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Society, concluded its eight-week livelihood training for women from diverse backgrounds. Many participants have already been managing small start-ups, while others possess a strong passion for entrepreneurship and aspire to embark on their business ventures.
The event was honoured by the presence of His Excellency Ali bin Al Shaikh Abdulhussain Al Asfoor, Northern Governor, underscoring the importance of sustainable community engagement and corporate social responsibility.
A key highlight of the closing ceremony was an exhibition showcasing the innovative products and projects developed by the participants. This exhibition not only provided a platform for them to present their creativity, diligence, and newly acquired skills but also facilitated meaningful connections between participants and the wider community. Through this initiative, attendees demonstrated the transformative power of knowledge and its practical application in driving social impact.
Dr Adnan Altamimi, Vice President for Administration and Finance and Head of the Community Engagement Office at UTB, welcomed His Excellency Ali bin Al Shaikh Abdulhussain Al Asfoor, Mr Khalid Al-Qaoud, Chairman of the Bahrain CSR Society, guests, training completers, and their families. He highlighted the training’s significant impact, emphasising the crucial role of skills development in fostering entrepreneurial success and economic resilience. He extended his congratulations to the participants and wished them success in their future business endeavours.
Mr Khalid Al-Qaoud, Chairman of the Bahrain CSR Society, expressed his gratitude to UTB for its generous support in providing facilities and commended the dedication of the university’s faculty members in delivering the training. He congratulated the completers and encouraged them to apply their newly acquired knowledge to generate positive social and economic outcomes.
The eight-week training covered essential aspects of entrepreneurship, including key considerations for launching a business, navigating legal frameworks, branding strategies, and ensuring long-term business sustainability. Throughout the training, faculty members from UTB’s College of Administrative and Financial Sciences provided expert guidance, equipping participants with valuable insights into effective CSR strategies. Their expertise ensured the delivery of high-impact learning experiences aligned with the best practices in sustainable entrepreneurship.
