UTB celebrates the launch of its master’s programme in digital marketing

The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) officially launched its Master of Science in Digital Marketing programme at a ceremony held at Harbour House, Bahrain Financial Harbour, in the presence of Dr Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahromi, Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council, and Dr Farzana Abdullah Al Maraghi, Assistant Secretary-General.

In his opening remarks, Dr Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, extended his sincere appreciation to the Higher Education Council for its continued support of the university’s innovative initiatives. He emphasised the strategic importance of the new programme, stating:

“The field of digital marketing is undergoing unprecedented transformation. Our programme is designed to keep pace with this evolution by preparing graduates who can lead and innovate. Through this programme, we aim to develop leaders capable of shaping the future of digital marketing in the Kingdom of Bahrain and beyond.”

Dr Haitham Al Qahtani, Vice President for Academic Affairs, highlighted that the programme is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), ensuring academic excellence aligned with global standards. He noted that the curriculum strikes a critical balance between theory and real-world application, making it ideal for professionals seeking to enhance their skills while managing full-time careers.

The launch event also featured a keynote address by Ms Alaa Madan, Digital Marketing Representative at BENEFIT, who provided industry insights on the changing digital landscape and the growing demand for data-driven and customer-focused strategies.

A panel discussion followed, featuring: Mr Bader AlMadaifa, CEO and Co-Founder of KFM (Khosh Fkra Media); Mr Ahmed Al Sairafi, Founder and Director of Ignite Software & Design; and Mr Mohammed Elsum, Partner at FROM6 Communications. The panel explored key themes such as the evolution of digital marketing, the integration of AI-powered tools, the role of data analytics, and the rise of customer-centric marketing strategies. Panelists shared actionable insights on how businesses in Bahrain and the wider GCC region can leverage emerging technologies to enhance competitiveness, deliver personalised experiences, and adapt to fast-changing consumer behaviours.
