UTB and Salmaniya Medical Complex drive blood donation
Demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility and community wellbeing, the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB), in partnership with Salmaniya Medical Complex, organised a blood donation campaign on campus.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the vital importance of blood donation as a noble act that saves lives. It also sought to promote social participation and sustainability, aligning with Bahrain Vision 2030, which emphasises building a conscious, responsible society that actively contributes to national development and sustainable growth.
The campaign reflects Bahrain’s Ministry of Health commitment to a unified governmental framework guided by His Majesty the King’s Vision 2030, focusing on competitiveness, equity, and sustainability. Such efforts are instrumental in elevating healthcare standards and improving the overall quality of life across the nation.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from UTB students, faculty, and administrative staff, highlighting a strong culture of community engagement and social solidarity.
Dr Adnan Altamimi, UTB’s Vice President for Administration and Finance and Head of the University’s Community Engagement Office, emphasised that the campaign exemplifies UTB’s vision of promoting sustainability and positive citizenship through strategic partnerships with leading national institutions like Salmaniya Medical Complex, whose role is pivotal in the success of initiatives serving both the nation and the community.
“This campaign is part of a broader series of activities designed to cultivate a culture of volunteerism and social responsibility. Blood donation is a profound humanitarian gesture that reflects societal awareness and integrity,” he said.
The campaign concluded with a ceremony recognising the medical team and volunteers for their contributions, celebrating the spirit of humanitarianism, civic engagement, and national pride – values that underscore UTB’s mission to serve the community and advance sustainable development.
