UTB achieves full compliance with BQA standards

The University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) proudly received certification from the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA) during an awarding ceremony held on its campus. This significant achievement, presented by Dr Maryam Mustafa, the Chief Executive of BQA and Dr Diana Abdulkarim Al Jahromi, Secretary General of Higher Education Council (HEC) Bahrain, and witnessed by distinguished guests, university’s board members, officials, staff, alumni, and students, marks UTB’s full compliance with BQA standards, hence the inclusion of UTB programmes in the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) register.

This milestone was reached following UTB’s successful completion of the rigorous second cycle of the Institutional Review (IR) conducted by the Directorate of Higher Education Reviews (DHR) of the BQA, from 19th to 23rd May 2024. The comprehensive evaluation, executed by a dedicated team of DHR representatives and international experts, meticulously assessed the university’s adherence to both national and international quality standards.

UTB takes immense pride in this recognition, which reflects the university’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards across its academic programmes, facilities, and services. The university continues to invest in modernising its infrastructure and upgrading its technological resources to meet and exceed global educational benchmarks.

Dr Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, expressed his profound gratitude to the chairpersons and members of the Board of Directors and Trustees for their continued guidance and support. He also extended his appreciation to the academic and administrative staff, alumni, students, educational partners, and advisory panel members from both the public and private sectors. Their collective efforts have been instrumental in driving UTB’s mission to maintain excellence in higher education and foster a culture of continuous improvement. “Our achievement is a reflection of the strong partnerships we have cultivated within the UTB community and beyond. We remain committed to providing a transformative educational experience that prepares our students to excel in an ever-evolving global workforce,” he said.

As part of its strategic vision, UTB is dedicated to creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment. The university offers a wide range of student activities, guidance services, and professional development programmes aimed at equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the competitive labour market.

With this recognition, UTB reaffirms its role as a leading private university in the Kingdom of Bahrain, continually striving to enhance its academic offerings, improve campus life, and contribute to Bahrain’s development through high-quality education.
