Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, UTB honours 487 graduates in a grand ceremony
Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) proudly celebrated the graduation of 487 students earning their bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The grand ceremony took place on Saturday evening at the iconic Al Dana Amphitheatre, marking a milestone achievement in the university’s journey of academic and professional excellence. This prestigious event was graced by His Excellency Dr Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council.
His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma expressed his deep gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, for his patronage of the university graduation ceremony. This reflects His Highness’s commitment to supporting the youth sector. He emphasised that the Higher Education Council plays a pivotal role in organising the university sector, enhancing its outputs, and ensuring that graduates acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully enter the workforce.
Mr Hisham Alrayes, Chairman of the University Board and CEO of GFH Financial Group, conveyed his profound gratitude for the unwavering support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He also extended his sincere thanks to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his continued patronage, underscoring UTB’s commitment to producing highly skilled professionals who will contribute to Bahrain’s national and global economic progress.
In his inspiring address, Dr Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, expressed immense pride in the graduates, acknowledging their perseverance and dedication. He also recognised the invaluable support of their families, reaffirming UTB’s commitment to equipping its students with the knowledge and skills required to excel in a dynamic, technology-driven world.
Representing the graduates, Ammar Mousa, a mechatronics engineering graduate, reflected on years of hard work and determination. “This is more than just a graduation; it is the culmination of perseverance, passion, and purpose. We are deeply grateful to our teachers, mentors, and families who stood by us every step of the way,” he remarked.
Concluding the ceremony, His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma honoured the top-performing students who received the UTB Award for Academic Excellence in recognition of their achievements. He also recognised distinguished students and distributed certificates to the graduates.
