Robotics & Automation Society

President: Rand Hammou

Welcome to The Robotics and Automation Society!

We’re here to make engineering exciting, practical, and genuinely fun. At RAS you’ll get hands-on experience across electronics, mechanics, and design, and you’ll build real projects with people who are just as curious as you are.

Throughout the semester we run workshops and build sessions where you can learn skills like Arduino and embedded programming, circuit prototyping and soldering, PCB design, sensors and control, and basic mechanical design. We also organise company visits and industry trips, giving members the chance to see how robotics and automation look in the real world, ask engineers questions, and get a clearer picture of the careers out there.

We take part in competitions and challenges too, which is where the learning really clicks. You’ll work in a team, solve real problems, and come out with a project you can be proud of.

No experience is required. If you’re a beginner, we’ll teach you. If you’re experienced, you’ll find a strong team to build bigger ideas with.
