  • Publications in internationally indexed journals (SCOPUS), academic journals, or books following completion of the PhD degree.
  • Proficiency in both Arabic and English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Practical industry experience relevant to the area of specialisation will be considered an advantage.
  • Relevant professional certifications in their field of specialisation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students.

College of Administrative & Financial Sciences

COLLEGE DEAN

Job Summary

The College Dean is the Chair of the College Council and is ultimately responsible for the quality of education at the college. He/she is responsible for managing the faculty affairs, student conduct and fulfilling the strategic goals and initiatives of the college. Additionally, he/she sets the overarching thrusts of the college in instruction, research, and community engagement. The College Dean reports directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Implements the College Operational Plan and leads the college efforts towards achieving University goals.
  2. Determines the activities required to achieve the goals of the college and assigns responsibility to perform these activities according to the planned time frame.
  3. Prepares and administers the budget of the college.
  4. Ensures that all academic policies, procedures, and terms of reference are maintained and implemented.
  5. Provides management of support and leadership for the programme evaluation and development, and the successful implementation of programmes.
  6. Assures the academic alignment of the college programmes to the local, regional, and international standards.
  7. Ensures the quality of academic instruction, academic staff, and faculty.
  8. Provides leadership and promotes competence within the faculty of the college by creating conditions conducive to the improvement of instruction and scholarly research, and community engagement.
  9. Oversees promotion and retention of faculty based on criteria established through consultation and cooperation with the faculty and administration.
  10. Supervises faculty teaching loads and ensures that a high level of instruction is achieved and maintained.
  11. Provides a formal link of communications between the college and other parts of the university, and within the college through regular faculty meetings.
  12. Actively participates with other colleges/departments in curriculum review, student recruiting efforts and improved registration processes.
  13. Ensures the operational welfare of the college, including scheduling of classes, supervision of staff and general office functions.
  14. Coordinates programs which the college is into with other colleges, and/or departments, educational institutions, professional associations, government agencies, or private industries.
  15. Provides academic progression support to students.
  16. Monitors students’ intake and provides input to the marketing department to improve student admissions.
  17. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the VPAA.

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Not more than 50 years old
  • Arabic speaker an advantage
  • Holder of a doctoral degree related to the degree programmes offered
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in teaching including three (3) years of supervision after obtaining a doctoral degree
  • Knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance and Accreditation, preferably in AACSB
  • Experienced in programme development and measuring programme effectiveness
  • Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in oral and written communication
  • Proficient in technological and computer skills

Experience:

At least five (5) years’ experience in teaching, including three (3) years of supervision after obtaining a doctoral degree

 Skills:

Non-Academic Positions

ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

The Centre for General Education is seeking a qualified Administrative Coordinator to provide administrative and secretarial support to the Director and Centre administration. The ideal candidate is organised, professional, and proactive, with strong communication and administrative skills.

 

Job Summary

The Administrative Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Director and Centre administration. The position is responsible for managing office operations, coordinating academic and administrative activities, maintaining records and documentation, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and assisting with institutional initiatives to ensure the efficient functioning of the Director’s Office.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Director’s calendar, including appointments, meetings, and scheduling priorities
  • Coordinate meetings by preparing agendas and recording and disseminating minutes of meetings
  • Coordinate faculty meetings, academic events, ceremonies, and other special initiatives of the Centre
  • Draft, edit, and prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, and official communications as instructed by the Director
  • Screen and respond to phone calls, emails, and other correspondence as authorised by the Director
  • Serve as the primary administrative liaison between the Director’s Office, Programme/Department Heads, faculty members, staff, students, and external partners
  • Assist the Director, Officers, and faculty members with administrative procedures and documentation
  • Assist the Director and Officers in encoding course offerings in the Student Information System (SIS)
  • Provide assistance to the Director and students during the add/drop period
  • Support the implementation of centre-wide initiatives, strategic planning activities, and special projects
  • Assist with accreditation processes, assessment activities, and compliance documentation
  • Compile and maintain organised digital and physical filing systems for University and Centre reports
  • Monitor office supplies and coordinate with the Procurement Department regarding supply requests
  • Prepare market analysis, enrolment analysis, and other statistical and administrative reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate superior

 

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

Experience

  • Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience in secretarial, administrative, or office support functions

 

Training

  • Training in Basic Secretarial Courses, Records Management, Filing Systems and Documentation, and Telephone Etiquette

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other office productivity tools
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills

GRAPHIC DESIGNER

The Graphic Designer is responsible for continuously maintaining UTB’s brand aesthetics internally and externally. This includes creating, reviewing, updating, and maintaining the university’s visual representation in all aspects of design including typography, composition, and color.

 

APPLICANT MUST POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALICATIONS:

  • Male or Female
  • Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design, or a related field
  • At least one-year related experience
  • Training relevant to marketing, branding, and rebranding, graphic design programs, etc.
  • Mastery of industry-standard software to create logos, design reports and complete other projects
  • Ability to clearly communicate the reasoning behind design choices
  • A compelling portfolio with projects showcasing skills that are relevant to your business’s visual content goals
