AMA International University-Bahrain (AMAIUB) has welcomed its new students during the opening of classes for the second term of Academic Year 2020-2021. As the university adopts blended mode of learning due to COVID-19 disruption, the Office of Student Affairs has intensified its orientation program for all the students, setting series of online induction.
The freshmen induction was implemented in two parts – general and academic induction, in order to help the new students adjust and feel comfortable in their new academic environment, inculcate in them the proceedings of the university, build connection with other students and faculty members, and direct them to a sense of larger purpose and self-exploration. On the other hand, continuing students were re-oriented on the necessary adjustments to maintain continuity in mentoring and connecting with their faculty members.
Dr. Hasan Almulla, the AMAIUB President, gave his inspirational message to freshmen and continuing students. He mentioned the new plans and direction set by the new management including the opening of new programmes and optimizing the university infrastructure, among others. He assured that students will be supported and valued as the center of the university. Other university officers, Dr. Buena Gracia Canzana and Dr. Amin ElMeligi, also expressed their welcome message to all students. Dr. Buena emphasized on the significance of induction to student success, while Dr. Amin enumerated the necessity of student support services for career building. Further, the new officers and members of the Student Council were also introduced along with other student support services.
