AMAIUB pens Memorandum of Understanding with GARMCO


AMA International University Bahrain (AMAIUB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Gulf Aluminum Rolling Mill (GARMCO) on November 8.

Ms. Buena Gracia Canzana, AMAIUB head of administration and Mr. Jean-Baptiste Lucas, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) GARMCO signed the MOU at the later’s office in the industrial zone along Sitra. This memorable undertaking was witnessed by the AMAIUB Provost Dr. Geraldo Talisic, and Head of Research and Publication Office Dr. Amin ElMeligi, and GARMCO’s Human Resources Manager Mr. Fahad Albasam and Director of Training Dr. Adel.

The MOU focused on the cooperation between the university and the company in different areas such as the education and work training of AMAIUB students and graduates.

Moreover, both parties planned to embark on a mutually beneficial and collaborative arrangement by which each seeks to contribute to the success of the other through the following aspects, namely: student work placements, cooperative projects, internships and on-job-training, and sharing of knowledge, experience and ideas through industry visits and seminars.

This MOU also provides possible research collaborations between the university and the company through projects that will contribute in solving industrial problems and increasing the company production.

It is worth mentioning that there are several of prominent employees of GARMCO who graduated from the AMAIUB. They are positioned in the different sectors of the company, such as human resources, sales, and engineering among others.

This MOU also exhibits AMAIUB’s active involvement in serving its community through the cooperative efforts between the University and industrial companies.
