AMAIUB participates in the World Robot Olympiad Competition in India

World Robot Olympiad is an event for science, technology and education which brings together the young people all over the world to develop their creativity and problem solving skills through challenging and educational robotics competitions.

College of Engineering students at AMA International University geared up for the forthcoming World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2016 in Delhi- India on 25-27 November 2016.

The team consists of four students and a coach will represent Bahrain at the WRO. They will compete along with other selected participants from different universities round the world. They will take part in robotic challenges in the event and create innovative robotic designs from the Lego Mindstorms NXT 2.0 educational robot products.

Dr. Zeyad M. Ismail, the team coach and the head of Mechatronics Program at the College of Engineering said: “We are very proud to have put together a great team of students for this year’s Olympiad. With the kind of training and exposure we have given these students, I am very confident that the team will do us proud. It gives me great confidence to know that these students will truly do their best to put Bahrain’s name on the world map.”

AMA International University continuously provides its students the opportunity to design and create their projects by updating its facilities and equipment and maintaining a qualified pool of faculty who are ready to support them during competitions, a statement said.

It is worth mentioning that it is the third consecutive participation for the college of engineering students in this international event.
