AMA International University-Bahrain’s (AMAIUB) Center for General Education (CGE) and Community Engagement Office (CEO) recently hosted the last of the three-round seminar on “Enhancing Utility Workers’ Skills” With its informing theme “Better Knowledge for Better Service,” the seminar focused on four basic modules: Conversational English, Recycling, Work Ethics and Budgeting and Savings.
The activity, participated in by 24 utility personnel, aimed to help utility workers who generally come from the third world countries equip themselves the knowledge and skills needed specifically in their workplace and who will eventually serve Bahrain for a better tomorrow.
AMAIUB Administration Head Buena Gracia A. Canzana met the participants and enlightened them on the importance of the seminar. She also expressed her appreciation to the seminar facilitators and CGE teachers headed by Dean Dr. Lani I. Palatino.
CGE Department Languages and Literature professors handled the 9-10 AM Conversational English simultaneous sessions in different rooms, while the Department of Natural Sciences took charge of 10-10:30 AM on Recycling discussion; the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences presided over Work Ethics; and the Department of Mathematics facilitated Budgeting and Saving.
Part 1 of this seminar was conducted in August 2012, while Part 2 was done in March 2, 2012.
