AMA International University-Bahrain holds 9th Commencement Exercises


With the theme “Fulfilling AMA International University’s Commitment to Nation Building in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” AMA International University-Bahrain (AMAIUB) held its 9th Commencement Exercises on November 27, 2013 at the Al Dana Hall, Gulf Convention Centre.

His Excellency Dr. Amable R. Aguiluz V, President of AMA International University-Bahrain, Chairman Emeritus of AMA Education System and Philippine President’s Special Envoy to the Gulf Cooperation Council, conferred 722 candidates for the following degrees: Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics, Bachelor of Science in International Studies, Bachelor of Science in Informatics Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Master of Science in Computer Science, Master in Business Administration, and Doctor of Medicine.

In his graduation message, Ambassador Aguiluz underscored that the degree programmes of the university had been accredited by the European Council for Business Education and Computing Accreditation Commission – Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (CAC-ABET). With these accreditation awards, AMAIUB supplements the Kingdom in developing stronger and more conformable educational programmes and in equipping its citizens to involve themselves in sustainable nation building.

Ambassador Aguiluz also emphasized that AMAIUB’s students and alumni are already its contribution to nation building in the Kingdom.

“The university’s competent and committed faculty members, relevant and integrative curriculum, and comprehensive training programs honed you dear students with conceptual knowledge and skills, nurtured your positive attitudes and values, and instilled among you the willingness to participate actively in shaping your future as experienced cultural learners. You, who will soon be part, and have already been part of Bahrain’s human capital, will lead and create a difference in the life of the people in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and in the global arena” Ambassador Aguiluz remarked.

AMAIUB’s 9th commencement exercises had been graced by His Excellency Jamil bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and LMRA Chairman; Dr. Ebrahim Aldoseri, Adviser to the President; Dr. Essam Abdulla Fakhro, Chairman of BCCI and Board of Advisor of AMAIUB; Mr. Bashar Mohamed Almutawa, Board of Advisor of AMAIUB; and His Excellency Sahid Glang, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Officials from Nigeria were also present during the said event namely: Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed, head of Kwara State; Hon. Gbenga Peter Makanjuola, representative of Kwara State representing the Senator Bukola Saraki, Federal Leader; and Hon. Abdullahi Hamza, Deputy Director of Management Services and Secretary of the Standing Committee on Private Universities who represented Prof. Julius Okojie of the Office of the Order of Niger, National Universities Commission Executive Secretary.
