AMA International University-Bahrain in cooperation with Yousif Khalil Almoayed Nephrology and Transplant Center and Abdulrhman Kanoo Center For Kidney Disease of Salmaniya Medical Hospital conducted a event on the occasion of the World Kidney Day under the title “Healthy kidneys for all” on Thursday 26th March 2015 at the university’s campus in Salmabad.
The objective of the event was to provide students and staff with information on kidney diseases, how to prevent them and keep kidneys healthy. The information session on the health of kidneys presented by Dr. Mohammed Nairooz of Salmaniya Hospital who also referred in his lecture to the importance of kidney donations and how to prevent kidney failures.
This activity comes in lines with the university’s determination to educate its students and staff on topics of concern to the society and the importance of collaborations with government and non-government institutions on the dissemination of good habits and awareness and encouraging students in particular to participate in voluntary work and services of benefits to the society.
Salamaniya Hospital participated in this activity with over 20 specialists and nurses where the team under the supervision of Afrah Al Jamri Nursing Supervisor & Training Specialist conducted various medical tests including weight and height measurement, blood sugar and blood pressure, in addition to, medical consultations and responding to medical queries of both faculty members and students who participated very heavily in the event.
