Faculty and students from the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences (CAFS) of AMA International University Bahrain (AMAIUB) were given an opportunity to listen and appreciate guidance on the importance of developing their” 21st Century Professional Skills. The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), represented by Mr. Junard Maqbool, its Customer Support Office for Oman, Qatar and Bahrain, visited the university last 28 October 2013 and provided a session with the students along “Careers in Accounting and Finance”. The ACCA officer discussed the current scenario in Accountancy & Finance Industry with details on how there is a shortage of skilled professionals. Various job roles in accountancy and finance (ACCA calls it the “21st Century Accountant”) where competencies or skills required to take up professional roles in Accountancy & Finance in today’s economy, were also highlighted.
The session, has provided opportunity for teachers and students to explore and try the possibility of availing these much needed professional preparedness in the areas of accounting and finance.
